2021 data announcement on the total scale and added value of China Sports Industry

The General Administration of Sport of China and the National Bureau of Statistics have released the 2021 data announcement on the total scale and added value of the national sports industry.

According to the accounting, the total scale of the national sports industry in 2021 is 3117.5 billion yuan, with the added value reaching 1224.5 billion yuan. Compared with 2020, the total output and added value of the sports industry increased by 13.9 percent and 14.1 percent.

From the perspective of internal composition, the added value of sports service industry was 857.6 billion yuan, accounting for 70.0% of the added value of the sports industry, an increase of 1.3 percentage points over the previous year. The value added of sports goods and related products was 343.3 billion yuan, accounting for 28.0 percent of the value added of the sports industry, down 1.3 percentage points over the previous year. The added value of the construction of sports venues and facilities was 23.6 billion yuan, accounting for 1.9 percent of the added value of the sports industry, down 0.1 percentage point over the previous year.
